Outside Maintenance Coordinator- Tulsa, OK
Summary: Coordinates and/or schedules emergency breakdown and routine repair work performed outside the home office.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties as assigned.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITY
1. Handles incoming calls from drivers needing assistance with maintenance repairs and other work related to the operation (load shifts, accident damage, etc.).
2. Obtains the specific needs, type of repair and specific driver information.
3. Verifies load requirements, destination, time of delivery and schedules the necessary repair closest to the route to avoid late delivery.
4. Informs proper customer contacts of the situation by the applicable means and documents all information pertaining to the situation.
5. Makes the necessary calls to coordinate the repair work with vendors in the area, nearest to route and following warranty guidelines and refers to applicable warranties.
6. Notifies the driver of the vendor and location and notifies the driver of the time the vendor will be there, if the unit is broke down.
7. Makes follow up calls to assure the repair work is going as scheduled and the proper customer contact is notified of progress.
8. Tracks, maintains and documents all methods of payment for services rendered, Comcheck, purchase orders and any other money transfers.
9. Administers warranty, keeping the Manger advised of all warranty in process. Assures that all necessary information pertaining to warranty claims are obtained and recorded and parts are brought back to the location filing the claim.
10. Keeps Manger informed of all purchase orders, Comchecks and any other payment method used in the operation.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
2. Must have good customer service skills.
3. OTR Driving Experience or Heavy Truck Maintenance Experience preferred.
4. Computer & Typing Skills required. (AS400, Word, Fleet Assist preferred).
Part Time Sales Assistant Tulsa, OK
15-18 hours weekly
Summary: This position is responsible for helping dispose of used trucks and trailers through cold calling. It requires strong phone skills, self motivation and communication skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties as assigned
1. Identifying, soliciting, securing and properly contracting prospective clients.
2. Working closely with Melton associates in understanding needs and opportunities within Melton Truck Lines, Inc.
3. Recommend advertising campaigns that include direct mail projects, call-campaigns, billboards, newspapers, magazines, and other media sources.
4. Using materials, truck & trailer specs, to effectively communicate with prospective buyers about Melton’s used trucks and trailers.
5. Working closely with the Truck and Trailer Salesman to help close the sale.
Qualification Requirements: as follows:
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Experience or training in customer service, sales, telemarketing, and/or recruiting is an asset. Also experience driving a truck or with the trucking industry is beneficial.
Special Training: Must be helpful if familiar with computer programs such as Microsoft Excel and Word, Goldmine, the Internet, DAC Pro, Innovative, and AS400.
Special Skills: The ability to speak clearly and concisely on the phone. Also, good communication skills, and the ability to deal with a high-pressure environment are all important.
Physical Demands: It is necessary to talk, hear, sit, walk, type, and write. It is occasionally necessary to lift up to 25 lbs.
Account Manager Logistics Broker - Tulsa/Laredo
Summary: The Transportation Sales Representative is responsible for the development of profitable new business and for building strong relationships with existing customers that allow for the retention and growth of their business. Transportation Sales Representatives are typically our first contact with new customers and must always represent the company in a professional manner using an independent and consultative approach to winning their business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Provide quotes and handle booking requests for all transactional customers.
2.Utilize a consultative sales approach to identify, solicit, and secure new business from existing and new customers.
3.Participate in face-to-face sales calls as needed.
4.Manage all customer account and contact information, sales call notes, and rate quote documents as well as any other customer interaction information through SalesLogix.
5.Establish positive working relationships with Melton Truck Lines Customer Service and Inside Sales Representatives that allow additional business to be secured for both companies.
6.Provide sales support for marketing programs such as direct marketing campaigns, web ads, print ads, and other sales lead programs.
7.Participate in the evaluation and response to all formal bid packages, on-line bid packages & carrier profiles from assigned customers.
8.Ensure customers are informed of all the necessary documentation requirements for customs clearance, hazardous materials, or to meet any other regulatory or customer requirements.
9.Other duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements:
Minimum qualifications: Bachelors degree or equivalent industry experience.
Must be able to communicate clear and authoritative and demonstrate strong customer service skills.
Will have demonstrated the ability to multi-task, work independently, have a high degree of accuracy and very detail-oriented.
Also, will be able to work in a team oriented environment, make quick decisions, and problem solve.
Preferred qualifications: Two or more years of transportation industry experience in a sales or business development role.
Demonstrated experience in identifying and growing new business in the modes of dry van, flat bed, over dimensional, temperature controlled, intermodal, expedited and/or air.
Special Training: Ability to use Microsoft Office software applications and SalesLogix.

OTR Flatbed Driver
Summary: This position includes over the road and city driving; pulling and unloading a dropdeck or flatbed trailer. There are various paperwork duties required. Communications are via telephone and satellite.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following with other duties as assigned.
1.City, Regional, & OTR Driving pulling drop deck and flatbed trailers. Responsible for the distribution of commodities to local and regional customers. Overnight travel will be required.
2.Supervises loading and secures freight on trailer, tarps.
3.Prepares proper paperwork.
4.Assists customers in matters concerning their freight.
Minimum Qualifications:
2 months OTR/Regional experience. (special training for less than 6 months exp)
Motivated and detail oriented; Accustomed to working in a fast paced environment.
Willing to work irregular shifts.
Physical Requirements:
1.Must be able to sit and remain alert while driving for an aggregate period of up to ten hours.
2.Must be able to shift manual transmission and operate foot pedals.
3.Must be able to perform occasional squatting to handle and position equipment.
4.Must be able to perform occasional crouching to handle and position equipment.
5.Must be able to enter and exit the vehicle’s cab 8 to 10 times a day. Cab floor level is generally from 36 to 66 inches above ground level, with entry and exit achieved with the assistance of various configurations of steps and handholds. Also requires occasional bending, twisting, climbing, squatting, crouching and balancing.
6.Must be able to frequently perform carrying equipment weighting 1 pound to 20 pounds of varying size and shape a distance of at least 1 foot but usually no more than 75 feet.
7.Must be able to frequently reach for equipment at waist level and occasionally reach for equipment above shoulder height or below waist level.
8.Must be able to occasionally reach above shoulder level, at waist level and below waist level for maneuvering and directing the controls to operate the truck.
9.Must be able to occasionally lift, push, pull and spread a tarp weighting approximately 105 pounds.
10.Must be able to install and remove tire chains when required due to inclement weather.
11.Must be able to spend at least 5% of the day standing and 10% of the day walking on surfaces such as concrete, wood and metal, and sometimes on slippery and wet surfaces.
12.Must be able to hook/unhook various commercial vehicle combinations, manually lower and raise landing gear, operate the fifth wheel release lever, lock and release pintle-hooks, attach and release safety chains, climb into and out of our vehicles, fuel vehicles and check engine oil and coolant levels.
