Melton Truck Lines Named Recipient of President’s “E” Award for Exports, Excellence, Expansion and Effort

Melton Truck Lines was recently honored with the prestigious President’s “E” Award for Exports, Excellence, Expansion and Effort. Donald Evans, Secretary of the Department of Commerce, presented the award to Bob Peterson at a ceremony on June 6th in Washington, D.C. With only ten 2001 recipients and 16 recipients in 2002, this award is the nation’s highest honor for achievement in exporting. The “E” Award was created by Executive Order of the President in 1961 to afford suitable recognition to persons, firms, or organizations which contribute significantly in the effort to increase United States exports.

Melton was recognized for facilitating export expansion through transportation. In 1980, Melton became the first flatbed trucking company to provide thru-trailer service to Mexico. Melton has established a name which is synonymous with quality and has emerged as an expert in international service.
